I am a debuting, contemporary abstract painter born in the spring of 1991. In my art, you’ll find a combination of natural, floral, and futuristic motifs with minimalist, metaphysical, and ethereal qualities. I achieve calming, dream-like, surreal compositions by harmoniously layering organic, flowing shapes. Soft, floating, multi-layered forms are grounded by the raw cotton canvas and accentuated by geometric structures. Ghost White dominates the color palette, gently contrasting with the semi-transparent, warm-toned* raw cotton fabric.
My working method is inspired by sfumato, alla prima, grisaille, chiaroscuro, aquarelle, and gouache, without the use of underdrawing. Early works are painted mostly with Gesso, currently replaced by an original mixture of pigments, marble, pearl powder, clay, and water-soluble binders. I built my own style during years of experimentation, guided by curiosity and love for the craft. I am self-taught. All my works are dedicated and inspired by the Planet Earth, Mother Nature.
I come from Terra Lomzensis, a region in north-eastern Poland with one of Europe's few braided rivers, the Narew. I am currently residing in Warsaw. Duchnowska is an art name taken from previous generations. Duch - translates to a spirit, a soul, a ghost.
Currently, you can purchase few prints on the Saatchi platform (more coming soon).
